Requirements

• Associate in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology
• 5+ years of work experience
• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLSASCP) certification required
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTASCP) certification required
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTAMT) certification required

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical testing in one or more areas of the laboratory: Blood Bank, Microbiology, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Urinalysis.
• Obtains or receives specimens and performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures.
• Understands method principles, performs quality control, and performs preventative maintenance.
• Interprets results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
• Assists supervisors and co-workers in the daily operation of all areas of the laboratory.
• Receives and processes written or electronic requests from physicians for routine or special laboratory tests.
• Performs diagnostic testing and interprets results on donor and hospital specimens, and blood products.
• Develops, documents, implements, and evaluates individualized treatment plans based on test results.
