About The Position

The Medical Technologist - Per Diem position at Emerson Hospital involves performing a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic laboratory tests, particularly in the area of Hematology. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Hematology, Biology, Basic Sciences, or Medical Laboratory Science.
• Graduate of an approved program in Medical Laboratory Science.
• Minimum one year of experience in all areas of the Laboratory or Hematology Department.
• ASCP or NCA certification required, or ASCP or NCA eligible with certification achieved within 6 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of basic laboratory methods and analytical principles in Hematology.
• Working knowledge of automated and manual laboratory equipment.
• Good knowledge of quality control principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized diagnostic laboratory tests on environmental, blood, and body fluid specimens as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Process and analyze all specimens submitted for clinical analysis.
• Report results to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain instrumentation utilized in the laboratory.
