About The Position

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, is looking for a part time Med Tech to join our team! A Medical Technologist conducts diagnostic laboratory tests that are important in detecting, analyzing and treating a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions. A medical Technologist uses microscopes, chemicals, precision tools, analyzers and computer equipment to perform tests that give doctors and patients detailed information about various conditions, including the progress and prognosis of the patient. A Medical Technologist performs standard laboratory procedures consistently providing high quality patient care. A Medical Technologist is able to work independently in assigned areas (Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology).

Requirements

• Knowledge of QC, protocol, and procedures.
• Ability to perform assigned analytical testing accurately.
• Experience with Meditech lab system.
• Ability to multitask without jeopardizing quality.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of Point of Care Management Program.
• Experience with inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic laboratory tests.
• Use microscopes, chemicals, precision tools, analyzers, and computer equipment.
• Perform standard laboratory procedures.
• Work independently in assigned areas.
• Utilize Laboratory Information Systems for daily operations.
• Prioritize work effectively and adhere to department's STAT protocol.
• Perform analytical testing using independent judgment.
• Assist in problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and departments.
• Work as part of the lab team and assist co-workers.
