Performs a variety of routine laboratory tests and procedures in chemistry, microbiology, hematology, blood bank or other areas of the clinical laboratory. Participates in quality control, CAP surveys, methods/procedures development, and equipment inspections and calibrations.

  • Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures in various areas of the clinical laboratory.
  • Participate in quality control activities.
  • Engage in CAP surveys.
  • Assist in methods/procedures development.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and calibrations.
  • Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a science related to clinical medicine.
  • Formal hospital-based internship.
  • Registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), or Medical Technologist MT(HEW), MT(AMT), MT(HHS).
  • Successful completion of a laboratory orientation program.
  • Competency test with an accuracy of 80% or higher for applicants advancing to peer interview.
  • Same as minimum required qualifications.
