Start time to be discussed at time of interview. Schedule options include: Eight-hour shift working Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. Start time between 11:00am and 12:00pm. Ten-hour shift working Tuesday-Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. Start time between 9:00am and 12:00pm Summary: The Senior/Lead Medical Technologist (Medical Laboratory Scientist) provides technical direction and oversight in the Microbiology Laboratory. The individual will demonstrate advanced level competencies in producing accurate laboratory test results, serve as a resource to staff, gather data for quality improvement purposes, assess testing personnel competency levels, assist with new test development and validation studies, and serve as a preceptor in teaching multiple types of learners and training of new employees. The individual will provide leadership in the laboratory during mid to late day activities. Responsibilities: This position has responsibilities in the Central Processing, Bacteriology, and Special Microbiology sections of the laboratory. The Special Microbiology section consists of Mycobacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, and Send Outs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to processing and testing specimens by using manual techniques as well as total laboratory automation, mass spectrometry, and molecular methods. As a member of our team this candidate will perform some or all of the following: specimen processing and setup tasks, Gram stains, rapid antigen testing, plate reading of cultures, susceptibility testing, and organism identification. Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's of Science degree.
  • Requires MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification.
  • Requires two years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, medical laboratory technician, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level.
