About The Position

This position involves conducting a variety of laboratory tests and duties in accordance with established laboratory procedures. The role requires adherence to Cherokee Nation Policies and Procedures, Rural Health Guidelines, and regulations set by OSHA, CLIA'88, and COLA. The Medical Technologist I will work under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university or have graduated from a Medical Technology School approved by a recognized accrediting organization
  • Knowledge of Database software
  • Knowledge of Internet software
  • Knowledge of Order processing systems
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software
  • Must be a registered Medical Technologist or registry eligible and must obtain registry within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained throughout employment
  • Documented training with annual re-evaluation for laboratory procedures and operation of laboratory instruments
  • Must be able to meet the sensory and physical requirements of the job
  • Must possess current technical and analytical knowledge including the ability to perform and evaluate laboratory testing in the multi-modality areas of the laboratory
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and duties according to established laboratory procedures
  • Comply with Cherokee Nation Policies and Procedures, Rural Health Guidelines, OSHA, CLIA'88, and COLA regulations
  • Perform and evaluate laboratory testing in the multi-modality areas of the laboratory
  • Perform phlebotomy services as required
