This position is a full-time role at Carolinas Medical Center - LC: Lab: Pineville, with a schedule from Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm, involving varying shifts. The role is eligible for a sign-on bonus based on eligibility and offers a pay range of $28.05 - $42.10. The essential functions include demonstrating proficiency in testing procedures, preparing reagents, managing inventory, exercising clinical judgment, assisting with procedure reviews, maintaining communication regarding patient care, and participating in competency assessments.

  • Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and policies by adherence to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area.
  • Prepares reagents and maintains an adequate supply of materials for test procedures.
  • Manages inventory to effectively reduce departmental waste/expense.
  • Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities and problem-solving test systems.
  • Assists with review and revision of procedures and documentation related to accreditation.
  • Maintains clear, real-time communications shift-to-shift and with leadership regarding issues affecting patient care.
  • Participates in planning and implementing change through staff meetings and projects.
  • Participates in competency assessment program, where qualified.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MT, MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
  • MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.
