The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)/Medical Technologist (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for performing highly complex testing for use in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of disease. This involves a thorough knowledge of laboratory practice in order to correlate, interpret, evaluate and ensure the validity of patient results. The MLS/MT/CLS/MLT assists in the maintenance and operation of the laboratory by assuring compliance with all laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory agency standards.

Requirements

• BS or AS degree in related field or documented military laboratory training.
• Education credentials necessary to satisfy CLIA '88 personnel testing qualifications for a high complexity laboratory.
• Training and/or experience in all areas of the clinical laboratory and laboratory information systems.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited MT/MLS/MLT program or Board of Registry equivalent.
• National certification/registration as MLS/CLS/MT/MLT via ASCP, AMT, NCA or HEW.
• Minimum of one year's experience.
