About The Position
The position involves performing a variety of standardized medical laboratory tests and examinations, many of which are complex and require numerous steps and procedures. The role also includes receptionist and clerical duties such as scheduling appointments and inputting data into a computer system. Additionally, the incumbent will maintain supply inventory, order supplies, and restock the supply area. The position requires determining the type of specimen to be collected, performing blood collection using knowledge of human anatomy, aseptic and sterile techniques, and phlebotomy equipment. Responsibilities also include drawing and labeling blood samples, ensuring the quantity is sufficient for tests, and processing laboratory specimens for shipment to reference laboratories in accordance with standard operating procedures.
