About The Position

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Med Surg Educator for our Organizational Development and Learning Department (ODAL). Under the general supervision of the department leader or authorized designee, provides orientation, on-the-job training, and continuing education programs for all assigned units.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN. preferred.
Maintains current license to practice nursing in the State of West Virginia.
Minimum of five (5) years as staff nurse.
Evidence of skills in leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and communication
Thorough knowledge of good nursing practice
Ability to apply knowledge and express ideas both written and oral
Ability to write objectives for all teaching programs
Ability to relate well with co-workers, all levels of nursing staff, and medical staff
Emotional stability, poise and self confidence
Physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the job.
Eligible for certification as instructor of required staff competencies.
