About The Position

As a Manager of Medical-Surgical Nursing with St. Davids Georgetown Hospital, you will be responsible for the direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on your designated shifts. You will collaborate with other members of the management team to assess the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, ensuring that departmental mission and objectives are maintained. This role involves coordinating departmental activities, assessing patient care complexity, and managing nursing staff assignments to meet service needs. You will also maintain communication with the management team and medical staff, manage personnel providing direct patient care, and oversee compliance with patient care standards.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for the direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on designated shifts.
  • Collaborate with management team to assess quality of patient care services.
  • Ensure departmental mission and objectives are maintained.
  • Coordinate departmental activities and assess quality and efficiency.
  • Assess complexity of patient care and coordinate nursing staff assignments.
  • Maintain communication with management team and medical staff.
  • Manage personnel providing direct patient care and delegate activities.
  • Provide direct supervision of staff regarding conflict resolution and policy compliance.
  • Round on staff and patients daily in cooperation with the Nursing Director.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards regarding patient care and compliance with core measures.
