About The Position

At Emory Healthcare, the RN Clinician Charge is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the daily operations of a specific shift on a clinical unit. This role involves supervising staff and facilitating communication with physicians and internal administrators to provide optimal patient and family-centered care. The RN Clinician Charge is recognized as a change agent, leading efforts to strengthen organizational systems that support the mission, vision, and values of the department. The position requires adept problem-solving skills, conflict negotiation, and collaboration with others. The RN Clinician Charge demonstrates insight, judgment, and clinically sound risk-taking, serving as a role model for expert communication skills. They are expected to complete employee conferences, risk management, and unit management reports within specified time frames, while also evaluating the effectiveness of operational forms and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The role includes mentoring other Registered Nurses and fostering leadership skills within the team, as well as participating in budget planning and regulatory agency reviews.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • 2 years of recent nursing experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration.
  • Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification may be required for certain departments post-hire.
  • Must meet all Clinical Nurse Employee Commitments.
