About The Position
The position involves operating various types of equipment such as ultrasonic cleaners and washer-sterilizers, ensuring that sterilized operating room instruments are placed in the proper trays. The incumbent will remove trays of instruments from pre-sterilizing equipment, inspecting items to ensure that gross contamination has been removed and that instruments function properly. Periodic testing of equipment for effectiveness of sterilization is required. The role also includes conducting the operating room inventory by receiving an inventory list from the OR, fulfilling requests by wrapping and sterilizing instruments before sending them back to the OR. Additionally, the incumbent will visually conduct the crash cart supply inventory and order supplies weekly.
