Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Six months of experience in a related field or one year of education above high school in health care-related courses.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of surgical instruments and universal precautions for safety.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and microbiology.

• Experience in Sterile Processing Service working with Dental Instruments.

Responsibilities

• Transport, decontaminate, prepare, and store dental instrumentation following all guidelines.
• Conduct sterile preparation through inspection, assembly, packaging, and terminal sterilization of trays, sets, and packs.
• Assemble a variety of surgical sets, including complex sets with up to ninety instruments.
• Select appropriate sterilizing methods for delicate equipment such as flexible resectoscopes and endoscopes.
• Test instruments for functionality and ensure compliance with manufacturer's guidelines.
• Prepare trays and sets for use in wards, clinics, and surgery, considering surgery and clinic schedules.
• Utilize computers for record keeping and tracking operations, including processing emergent requests and updating files.
• Conduct inventory of sterilized trays, checking package integrity and expiration dates.
