About The Position

The Medical Supply Clerk is responsible for procurement and management of medical supplies and equipment in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations to assure the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Requirements

• Must have at minimum a high school diploma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Must be in good general health and free of communicable diseases
• Must have the physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move intermittently throughout the work day
• Must have the ability to read, write and speak the English language

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurate inventory of all medical supplies and for ensuring supplies are available for the smooth operation of the facility
• Responsible for communication with vendors regarding orders, delivery and invoicing, and communication with nursing team regarding supply availability
• Responsible for ensuring rooms for new admissions have needed supplies prior to resident arrival
• Responsible for reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy
• Ensure all supply storage areas are clean, organized and are free of hazardous conditions
• Responsible for assisting with new staff orientation and ongoing training related to supply tracking system
• Responsible for attending in-service programs, educational workshops and meetings as required
• Responsible for complying with all safety and sanitation procedures including universal precautions
• Perform other duties as assigned
