About The Position

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking full or part-time Medical Subspecialty Hospital Physicians to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. These physicians will serve as front-line clinicians, providing care for inpatients in collaboration with subspecialty fellows and attending physicians. The ideal candidates will be board-certified or board-eligible pediatricians who are passionate about evaluating, treating, and managing inpatient care for children from birth to 21 years old. This role involves documenting medical findings in the Electronic Medical Record, supporting patients and their families, and partnering with nursing staff and administration to ensure high-quality care in various specialty areas, including Hematology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Pediatric ICU, Oncology, Neonatal ICU, Emergency Department, and Cardiac Center. This position is particularly suited for physicians who have a general interest in subspecialty inpatient care and are looking to work at one of the top pediatric hospitals in the world. It presents a unique opportunity for recent residency graduates seeking to expand their clinical knowledge and experience in a high-acuity, high-complexity academic referral center. Additionally, it may appeal to physicians who have previously left the academic inpatient hospital setting but are interested in returning to this vibrant healthcare environment. The employment agreements typically span at least one year, generally from July to June, with incentives for extended time in this clinical role. As a Medical Subspecialty Hospital Physician, you will engage in direct clinical activities, assess complex acute and critical conditions, supervise clinical providers, and ensure the quality of clinical care services. You will also participate in educational and professional development activities, acting as a mentor and preceptor for nursing staff and medical students. Administrative responsibilities may include assisting with the management of the inpatient setting and participating in the development of departmental standards and protocols. This role is integral to advancing pediatric care and making a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients and their families.
