Job Summary Responsible for coordinating medical staff activities, performing secretarial and delegated executive job duties and acts as a liaison between the medical staff, nursing staff and administration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care Experience 2-3 years required
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software programs.
  • Typing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation proficiency.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare environment.
  • Skilled professional communicator, including electronic and telephone communication.
  • Familiarity with use of computer systems and software, typewriter, photocopy machine, and telephone and fax.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and manage time efficiently and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains positive professional communications with the medical staff, administration, nursing staff, all hospital departments and health agencies.
  • Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.
  • Demonstrates compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
  • Performs research and obtaining information regarding all standards and requirements related to medical staff issues.
  • Assures overall continuity of medical staff activities.
  • Responsible for medical staff shift calendar.
  • Provide direct administrative support to Executive Director, inpatient medical director and associate chief medical officer.
  • Provide administrative support to the Department of Spaulding Rehabilitation Associates and medical staff at Spaulding Hospital Cambridge.
  • Responsible for onboarding requests for new medical staff. This includes MGB access, site orientation, and billing set up.
  • Manage Spaulding Hospital Cambridge Ongoing and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation/Focused Professional (OPPE/FPPE) program for Spaulding Rehabilitation Network (SRN) and credentialing/re-credentialing and privileging/re-privileging process.
  • Ensures rigorous system-wide and departmental quality measures are developed, vetted, and approved.
  • Special projects as assigned across the Spaulding Network
  • Other duties as assigned.
