About The Position

The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate credentialing and privileging of healthcare providers. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, and involves collaboration with medical staff leaders and external organizations to facilitate patient access. The position requires a strong understanding of credentialing processes and the ability to analyze data to support decision-making.

Requirements

• CPCS or CPMS certification preferred.
• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Complete the credentialing process for all members of the medical staff, professional staff, and allied health professionals.
• Verify qualifications and competencies of individuals seeking credentialing and clinical privileges.
• Analyze credentialing functions to ensure they are current, complete, and accurate before decisions are made.
• Process requests for additional clinical privileges and status changes according to the credentialing program.
• Understand and perform credentialing functions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Analyze data and escalate concerns to prevent negative impacts on patient care and safety.
• Collaborate with medical staff leaders and credentialing contacts to mitigate delays in obtaining required credentialing data.
• Maintain secure and easily retrievable peer review protected information.
