About The Position

The Medical Specialist 2 at Hutchings Psychiatric Center serves as the Director of Medicine, overseeing the medical care provided by a team of physicians to both inpatient and outpatient clients. Requirements

• Licensed and currently registered to practice medicine in New York State.
• Certification by a Member Board of the ABMS in a medical specialty.
• Behavioral health hospital experience.
• Senior level leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, monitor, and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care within the Medicine Department.
• Ensure the coordination of the Medical On-Call Program for CPC.
• Coordinate or perform necessary chart reviews to ensure compliance with CPC's quality management standards.
• Coordinate the Credentialing and Privileging process.
• Supervise the Physical Therapy Department and part-time consultant medical specialists.
• Participate in facility-wide interdisciplinary committees including Medical Staff Organization, Morbidity and Mortality Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Incident Review Committee, Adverse Drug Reactions Committee, Infection Control Committee, Antibiotic Stewardship Committee, and Ethics Committee.
