The Sonographer will perform standard ultrasound scans of patients and perform other basic duties related to the examination

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Current/valid registration, certification or licensure in Medical Sonography, accreditation in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS).
Two (2) years (24 months) of progressively more responsible work experience in the designated area of specialty.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
Note: A Bachelor's degree in a health care related field may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of experience.

Knowledge of all patient safety procedures.

Skill in proper documentation of results including preparing clear and concise reports, charts, and other written material.

Responsibilities

Administers level 1 ultrasound examinations.
Assists with complex, OB scans including level 2, abnormal and U/S guidance for CVS and Amnio scans.
Prepares, updates and files records of scans performed with related materials; copies reports.
Consults with physicians regarding preliminary scan reports.
Ability to perform Gyne, SIS, and REI procedures scans.
prepares patient for exam by explaining procedure, transferring patient to ultrasound table, scrubbing skin and applying gel, and positioning patient properly.
observes and cares for patients throughout examinations to ensure their safety and comfort.
Participate in regular staff meetings and Clinic improvement projects within multi-disciplinary teams.
Adjust or repair machine malfunctions, which can be remedied safely, either independently or under the advice of manufacturer's service representative.
Inventory stock of all supplies and equipment necessary for the uninterrupted operation, with proper attention to established procedures. Orders supplies when needed.
All other duties as assigned.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
