Responsible for the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment for the performance of all dynamic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Physical Effort: Moderate amount of lifting and positioning of patients and equipment. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Position requires ability to frequently lift objects heavier than 50 lbs., perform difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Majority of time spent in ultrasound laboratory with 10% portable examinations. Employee may frequently be exposed to blood, body fluids/tissues and electromagnetic radiation as in CRT’s (VDT’s). Mental Effort: Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to the concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time, able to communicate verbally using advanced level of vocabulary.
