Medical Social Worker (Outpatient Oncology) - MSW
About The Position
Provides direct and indirect clinical social work and discharge planning services for patients and their families in various inpatient and outpatient settings. Participates as a professional team member in patient care planning along with other hospital and community agency personnel. Frequent contact with patient care services staff, physicians, and ancillaries to discuss patient care and diagnostic needs. Participate in care rounds and other interdisciplinary collaboration within the in-patient and outpatient programs. Frequent contact with community agencies, third party payers, outside review organizations and case managers.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work
- LSW required
- Must be licensed with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board
- 1-3 years of job-related experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and written communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-stress environment
Nice To Haves
- LISW preferred
- Previous hospital or community social work experience required
- Knowledge of community agencies preferred
