Responsibilities

  • Assists with preparing routine documents, such as correspondence, calendars, and presentations.
  • Assists with arranging divisional meetings and conferences and distributes appropriate staff.
  • Provides photocopy and fax services, sorts and distributes mail.
  • Works referral work queues.
  • Serves as backup to work charge review work queues for pain clinic sites as well as pain psychology.
  • Schedules patient appointments, answers patient inquiries, routes patient calls.
  • Maintains front desk duties with low patient volume.
  • Reschedules patient appointments from clinic that have been altered or closed.
  • Scans patient records/referrals into EMR.
  • Obtains authorizations for patient visits that require insurance approvals.
  • Processes/files documents, as needed.
  • Maintains office supplies.
  • Serves as back-up for other job functions within the team during peak times, vacation, and illnesses.
  • Complies with HIPAA, OSHA, state and federal regulatory sources/standards.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
