About The Position

Scotch Institute of ENT , a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is currently seeking a Medical Scribe for a full-time position. Our main office is located in Wesley Chapel (Seven Oaks area) Monday-Friday and our second location is located in Trinity (New Port Richey) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This position may be required to commute to our Trinity office one to two days per week. Our areas of focus are ENT (adult and pediatric), Hearing, Allergies, and Sleep Medicine. We have 3 physicians, a nurse practitioner, and a physician assistant. Patient care is our top concern, and because we can provide both diagnosis and rehabilitative services, our patients know they can depend on our team for all their needs. Medical Scribe Description: This is an excellent opportunity for a Medical Scribe who is comfortable with medical terminology, strong typing skills, multitask oriented, motivated, able to handle a high volume of incoming patients, must be a self-starter and willing to learn all aspects of the ENT, Allergy, and Audiology field. Our practice is in Wesley Chapel (Seven Oaks area) but may require occasional travel to Trinity one to two days per week. Our areas of focus are ENT (adult and pediatric), Hearing, Allergies, and Sleep Medicine. We have 3 physicians, a nurse practitioner, and a physician assistant. We have a fantastic team environment, and this position offers great exposure to patient care for anyone with a goal of applying to PA school or medical school.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • >60 wpm typing speed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • EMR experience.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Medical ethics and confidentiality.
  • Time management in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting patient encounters and maintaining accurate medical records
  • Capturing patient information, including medical history, and symptoms
  • Recording physician examination findings and treatment plans
  • Ordering diagnostic tests and surgeries
  • Assisting with medical coding and billing processes
  • Inputting prescriptions and medication regimens
  • Facilitating communication between healthcare providers and staff members
