About The Position

Our busy Otolaryngology practice is seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Scribe for our Medical Director. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and experience working in a medical setting. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research. This full-time position involves documenting all patient visits, procedures, and medical records in real-time, as well as supporting the Medical Director and Lead Medical Assistant in other administrative and clinical tasks. The role aims to help candidates match for future residency programs.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree in healthcare or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience working as a medical scribe required, equivalency accepted given education.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records systems.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • All employees are required to provide proof of vaccination or exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany the Medical Director during patient visits, documenting patient history, examination, and treatment plans in real-time.
  • Ensure all medical records are accurately and promptly recorded in the electronic health records system.
  • Transcribe dictated notes and patient reports.
  • Communicate with patients and their families as needed.
  • Assist the Medical Director with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, coordinating telehealth visits, connecting peer-to-peer calls, and managing the calendar.
  • Be trained to cross-cover Triage as needed to route calls and answer questions pertaining to treatment, medication, and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunities as needed.
  • Clinical research involvement will be assigned and coordinated by the Medical Director.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of patient records and information.
  • Be available to work scheduled hours, travel between all office locations where their assigned provider hosts clinic.
  • Work a weekly schedule not to exceed 40 hours, assigned by the Lead MA.
