About The Position

This is a hybrid remote position, which means that you will train on-site in Jamestown NY and then work mostly remotely. You must be based in NY or PA, within commuting distance to Jamestown NY. We are currently seeking a Medical Scribe to join our team. As a Medical Scribe, you will be responsible for accurately documenting patient information into electronic health records (EHR) in real-time during medical exams. You will work closely with medical providers to ensure that all patient information is accurately and efficiently recorded.

Requirements

Six months to a year of experience in a scribe role preferred
At least six months to a year experience with Medent
Knowledge of health record documentation required
High School Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

Create and scribe progress notes
Review and edit transcribed reports or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology
Transcribe dictation for a variety of medical reports, such as patient histories, physical examinations, emergency room visits, operations, chart reviews, consultation, or discharge summaries
Identify mistakes in reports and check with providers to obtain the correct information
Complete reports for procedures that are done during patient visits, at the direction of the provider
Document provider’s findings during physical exam of patients, verify all areas of exam template are completed
Document diagnoses that the provider determines as a result of the patient exam, and any recommendations, testing, follow-up, or additional procedures that the provider determines
Address billing triage reports
Create notes and medical prescription pharmacy requests
May assist in other departments as needed
Any additional duties as assigned by management
