(Increases with tenure) 7 paid holidays + 2 floating holiday General Summary: A nonexempt position responsible for scribing office visit notes for physicians, as well as gathering information in exam rooms and putting it into medical reports, correspondence, and other administrative material, which typically become part of patients' permanent files. This is done in clinic. This person will also have MA duties

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No previous experience is required.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a medical assistant or scribe capacity preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and travel between Arlington and Mansfield locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany physician into the exam room to document patient history, physical exam findings, assessment, and plan in the electronic medical record (Athena) in real time.
  • Document physician-patient encounters, follow-up instructions, diagnoses, procedures, prescriptions, and test results as dictated and signed by the physician.
  • Assist in setting up for in-office procedures such as injections, aspirations, casting, splinting, and minor wound care.
  • Draw up medications for injections, ensuring correct dosage and sterile technique.
  • Submit orders for imaging and studies (EMG, MRI, CT), DME (durable medical equipment), and lab tests per provider direction.
  • Communicate with patients in person or over the phone to address clinical questions, provide follow-up instructions, or relay test results as directed.
  • Perform limited administrative duties as assigned.
