Community Health Centers of America is seeking a full-time experienced Medical Scribe to become a part of our team serving contracted skilled nursing facilities in the Chico area. This position requires computer literacy with advanced skills. The regular work schedule will be Monday - Friday. This position is located in Chico, CA with travel to nearby areas. Mileage and time paid for. Requirements

  • 1 year Medical Scribe experience or similar
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
  • Skilled in operating various medical records software and hardware, word processing, and database software programs
  • Minimum of 60 words per minute preferred
  • Effective organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to needs of the providers and facilities
  • Willingness to travel to other sites

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for healthcare providers.
  • Enter the patient room with healthcare provider during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing electronic medical record applications.
  • Ensure medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation.
  • Update patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information of the patient.
  • Prepare and send all documentation to healthcare providers for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility specific procedures.
  • Monitor the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures.
  • Assist in the automated prescription of the medication process.
  • Complies with medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve healthcare providers productivity and workflow as assigned.
