About The Position

Summit Digestive & Liver Disease Specialists is seeking a dedicated Medical Scribe or Medical Assistant to join our busy Gastroenterology practice in Chicago, IL. This role is essential in assisting our physicians by documenting patient health information (PHI) efficiently during patient visits. As a Medical Scribe, you will act as a personal data assistant to the provider, ensuring that all patient interactions are accurately recorded. Your primary responsibility will be to help providers document patient encounters, which includes recording patient information, history, diagnoses, and medication management. You will also assist in medical management and document medical decision-making processes, ensuring that all information is captured accurately and in a timely manner. In this position, you will be trained to become an expert in structured clinical assessments and population health workflows, particularly in relation to MACRA. Our goal is to facilitate efficient and effective medical care for our patients, and we emphasize the use of technology to enhance care quality and ease the workload for our providers. We pride ourselves on being a team of highly motivated individuals who work hard and play hard, all while being committed to providing excellent GI and Hepatology care. The ideal candidate will be someone who is committed to ongoing learning and is interested in a part-time or full-time position with a minimum commitment of two years. You will need to possess advanced communication skills, a strong background in medical terminology and pharmacology, and the ability to type at least 60 words per minute. Additionally, you should be willing to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team focused on patient care. Excellent attendance and punctuality are crucial, as our clinics operate in the afternoons and on Saturdays. Compliance with hospital and practice policies, including HIPAA regulations, is mandatory. Bilingual candidates who can speak both English and Spanish are preferred, as we strive to provide an unmatched patient experience and drive clinical excellence.
