Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Preferably at least one year of college in Pre-Health Studies or administrative studies in a healthcare-related field.
• Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Desire to learn and grow within the healthcare field.
• Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare-related field.
• Previous customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Record details of chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past medical history, social history, family medical history, disease risk factors, medications, and allergies.
• Document details of physical exams, including pertinent positives and negatives, noted abnormalities, and patient general condition.
• Record orders as desired by the medical provider and provide consistent updates for completion of those orders.
• Assist in the disposition of patients, including discharge instructions, admission orders, follow-up instructions, and documentation of prescription medications.
• Ensure compliance with EMR-required measured data, such as E/M coding requirements, Meaningful Use criteria, and documentation of Medical Decision Making.
