About The Position

The Medical Screener - Reception Technician is responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the technician assists qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing self-administered health history, answering basic medical questions, referring donors to medical staff when appropriate, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. The technician may also educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, ensuring that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring sufficient operating supplies, and following all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
