About The Position

As a Medical Scheduler- OR with Medical City Surgical Hospital Alliance, you can be a part of an organization that is devoted to giving back! The surgical services scheduler is responsible for providing support for physician's offices and communicating changes in the schedule to nursing leadership. This role functions as a receptionist/scheduler for the department, assists doctor's offices with scheduling procedural cases, reviews scheduling duration of cases daily, facilitates communication with physician's office staff and nursing staff, promotes a safe and therapeutic environment in all areas of the department, and acts as a collaborative member of the health care team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
  • Technical or vocational training.
  • Minimum 2 years as unit secretary in a hospital facility; OR scheduling/billing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Meditech experience preferred.
  • CNA license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a receptionist/scheduler for the department.
  • Assists doctor's office with scheduling of procedural cases.
  • Reviews scheduling duration of cases daily.
  • Facilitates communication with physician's office staff and nursing staff.
  • Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment in all areas of the department.
  • Acts as a collaborative member of the health care team.
  • Assists and functions in all aspects within the scope of practice.
