About The Position

MEDICAL RESEARCH TECHNICIAN / PHLEBOTOMIST Position Summary: Provides study support by performing medical technician assessments including (but not limited to) blood draws and vital checks on research participants. Your Role at SARRC Performs blood draws, ECG’s, EEG’s, and checks/documents vital signs of research study participants, both quickly and accurately. Ensures that the on-site lab is stocked appropriately and performs monthly inventories on all materials related to laboratory functioning. Verifies and records identity of research participants and converses with them to allay fear of research and venipuncture procedures. Adheres to industry and government standards regarding aseptic medical techniques and safe handling of biohazardous materials. Records all laboratory and test information accurately in electronic and written formats for easy access, interpretation and use by other authorized research team members. Performs other special projects and duties as necessary and requested. Interest in clinical trial coordination is a major plus. Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years patient interface experience within a medical environment.
  • Confident phlebotomy technician, able to perform venipuncture with small children and other challenging participants.
  • Active BLS/CPR and Basic First Aid certifications required.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to and work with diverse backgrounds, human capabilities and limitations, and cultures.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in clinical trial coordination is a major plus.

Responsibilities
