About The Position

The Medical Records Technician is responsible for compiling, scanning, processing, and maintaining medical records in accordance with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements. This role involves utilizing an electronic health record system for data entry, inquiry, and report generation, as well as releasing medical information as appropriate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in health information management preferred.
• Experience with electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and health information management practices.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or similar credential.
• Experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Compile, scan, process, and maintain medical records.
• Utilize electronic health record system for data entry and inquiry purposes.
• Generate reports from the electronic health record system.
• Release medical information as appropriate.
