The Medical Records Specialist plays an essential role in supporting agency operations by managing physician orders, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring documentation compliance to support timely reimbursements. Responsibilities

Enter physician orders into the agency system and send documentation to physicians for signature
Track the status of physician orders and Form 485s using internal reporting systems
Ensure timely follow-up on unsigned or outstanding documentation
Enter discharge orders and ensure patient schedules are appropriately canceled
Assemble, organize, and maintain patient medical records
Cross-train in intake and authorization processes to support office operations
Provide professional customer service when answering incoming phone calls
Address patient and family inquiries in a courteous and timely manner
Schedule patient visits and assist with tracking clinician productivity
Assist with coordination of in-office meetings and administrative tasks
Monitor office and medical supply levels and maintain adequate inventory
