About The Position

The Medical Records Retrieval Specialist/ Risk Adjustment Representative 2 travels to provider offices within the region and scans medical records into a secure system. The Medical Records Retrieval Specialist ensures accurate and properly supported clinical documentation within the health record. Follows state and federal regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines while analyzing medical records. This position requires travel up to 50% of the time, which will consist of driving to locations close to your home, as well as driving to locations that require overnight travel for up to a week at a time. The role involves using a laptop computer and a portable scanner and encrypted flash drive to retrieve medical records which will be uploaded into a database. The specialist will also schedule appointments and visits to physician offices in a timely, efficient manner to meet all deadlines.

Requirements

• Live in Virginia.
• 1 or more years of experience in a provider office and/or medical office setting.
• 1 or more years of Medical Record and/or health information experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, including strong keyboard and navigation skills.
• Valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits.

• Experience in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
• Medical Record retrieval experience.
