About The Position

Responsible for translating information from the patient's medical record into alpha numeric medical code. Diagnoses will be coded using ICD-10-CM. Procedures will be coded with ICD-10-CM and CPT.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, diseases, and diagnoses required.
• Must be able to see with corrective eye wear.
• Must be able to hear clearly with assistance.
• Must be able to use the following tools/equipment: typewriter and/or computer, adding machine/calculator, fax machine, microfilm reader/printer.

Nice To Haves

• Certification by American Health Information Management Association desired.
• Coding experience desired.
