About The Position

Perform specialized clerical functions in health services field. Maintain student medical records, coordinate appointments, and help facilitate the efficient operation of the department. Pay: $22.01/hour plus an additional $5.09/hour (up to maximum of 40 hours per week) used to offset the cost of elected benefits Hours: M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm Retirement Plan: Eligible to participate in company 401(k) with Company matching after 1 year Vacation: Minimum of ten days per year. Actual days are based upon your Service Date Sick Time: Accrued sick time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, capped at 56 hours per year Holidays: 12 paid holidays per year Work Model: Onsite

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED);
  • One (1) year administrative/clerical experience or training;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level;
  • Successfully pass background check and drug test required on the contract.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for health services receptionist duties, to include answering the phone.
  • Make student off Center medical appointments and complete referrals accordingly.
  • Make student eye examination appointments. Order glasses and work with lab on new and repair orders. Distribute orders to students when orders come in.
  • Complete and distribute on a daily basis student class passes for appointments in medical/dental/ mental health.
  • Prepare new student charts and paperwork.
  • File student medical records and be responsible for records maintenance.
  • Copy and mail student medical records as requested by wellness manager.
  • Type correspondence for a variety of needs.
  • Type and prepare monthly utilization statistical report. Submit report to the center’s wellness manager and the executive assistant in a timely manner.
  • Order and keep track of wellness clinic office supplies.
  • Complete purchase requisitions for needed items in health services and dental.
  • Track and maintain open contracts billing for vendors that wellness clinic uses. Submit report to Finance monthly with names and amounts for payments.
  • Assist with new student orientation to Health and Wellness.
  • Type denial letters for student medical bills and submit check request for items that will be paid for by Center.
  • Take and type weekly wellness clinic staff meeting minutes.
  • Maintain department fax and printer.
  • Document sick days for nonresident students and provide information to wellness manager for leave verification, if appropriate.
  • Process separated student medical records and submit them to student records department in timely manner.
  • Collect and distribute health services mail.
  • Organize and coordinate blood drives on Center.
  • Provide over the counter medicine to students when appropriate, following the Symptomatic Management Guidelines.
  • Make beds in short term unit, count laundry and ensure pick up by the warehouse for linen services.
  • Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
  • Performs all other duties as requested.
