About The Position

As a Medical Records Clerk with YesCare at the Philadelphia Detention Center, you will be responsible for managing medical records and ensuring their confidentiality. This position requires working the evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including alternating weekends. You will utilize the electronic medical record system eCW and perform various administrative tasks to support healthcare staff and clinicians.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one-year medical records experience.
• Familiarity with the Problem Oriented Medical Record (SOAP) system essential.
• Background check, security clearance, and drug screening are required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures confidentiality of all medical records information and completes forms for release of information.
• Utilizes electronic medical record system eCW as applicable throughout the scope of duties and responsibilities.
• Retrieves medical charts for all healthcare staff or clinicians as requested.
• Files daily all in use medical records and secures all active and inactive medical records.
• Assures that charts are counter-signed by Physician and checks charts for completeness.
• Releases information at the direction of the Medical Records Supervisor, Medical Director, or Health Services Administrator.
• Answers the telephone, takes messages, and makes telephone calls.
• Types letters, reports, and memorandums.
• Maintains a roster or appointment book for all scheduled patient appointments both on and off-site.
• Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
