The Medical Records Assistant is responsible for responding to medical record requests for clinics across multiple states.

  • Responsible for responding to requests for medical records by retrieving appropriate documents from EMR.
  • Responsible for compliance with state laws with regard to the production of medical records and charges associated with such production.
  • Performs clerical activities in support of the medical records department.
  • Responsible for protection of the security and integrity of medical records to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in compliance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Requires a HS Diploma and a minimum of 1-year related experience;
  • Must have a proven history of exercising discretion and retaining confidentiality
  • Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions and to make minor decisions in accordance with rules and regulations as they apply
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
  • Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
