Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Meditech, Epic, and Performance Manager/NetLearning.
• Ability to work independently and make independent decisions.
• Effective communication skills to deal tactfully with personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
• Flexibility and personal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and registering patients when they enter the practice.
• Scheduling patients.
• Answering phones.
• Scanning medical records.
• Triage patient phone calls for severity/importance.
• Collection of insurance information and verification of benefits.
• Charge entry and payment posting.
