Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Working knowledge of MicroSoft Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Medical office: 1 year
  • Appointment scheduling: 1 year
  • Insurance verification: 1 year
  • Phone etiquette: 1 year

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) years of work experience as a Receptionist in a health care service delivery setting
  • Experience in Medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Offering pertinent information
  • Directing callers to appropriate Health Center staff
  • Taking messages when appropriate
  • Schedules appointments, verifies registration information and patient demographics
  • Collects patient co-pays or other payments
  • Inspects reception room for neatness
