About The Position

Our radiation oncology practice is seeking a compassionate and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist to manage daily front office operations and provide exceptional service to our patients. As the first point of contact, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients undergoing cancer treatment. This position requires strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a calm, professional demeanor. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a high-volume, fast-paced medical setting while maintaining sensitivity to the needs of oncology patients and their families. To succeed in this role, you should have a friendly and empathetic personality, as well as the ability to respond to patient needs efficiently and respectfully. You must be detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of maintaining composure in stressful situations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Receptionist or Front Office Representative in a medical setting
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and basic medical terminology
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a compassionate approach

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion
  • Check patients in and out, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls in a timely manner
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
  • Maintain patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient flow and needs
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials
  • Handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist patients with forms, questions, and general inquiries
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry
  • Support the care team by helping manage daily workflow and patient coordination
