About The Position

Golden State Dermatology is a physician-led and owned dermatology group with over 37 locations across California, specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be a pivotal part of ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and delivering exceptional patient service. This role involves cross-training between the front desk and an upstairs call center, with an expectation to float between departments to support clinic operations. Your daily tasks will include warmly welcoming patients, assisting with check-in and check-out, verifying insurance coverage and eligibility, handling phone inquiries, and maintaining patient records. A key aspect of the role is managing the appointment schedule, which includes auditing future appointments, confirming attendance, and collecting necessary pre-appointment information like insurance details and intake questions. You will also be responsible for filling schedule openings by contacting patients on waiting lists or those with future appointments to offer earlier slots, prioritizing the soonest available appointments for providers. Call center duties encompass answering a high volume of incoming calls, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, confirming appointments, responding to patient questions, routing calls, and accurately documenting all interactions in the practice management system. You will assist patients with general inquiries, appointment requests, and basic insurance-related questions while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and professionalism. Additionally, you will provide product education to patients and staff and sell available skincare products. This position demands significant multitasking and task management to ensure all responsibilities are completed promptly. The Practice Manager may assign additional job duties as needed. Ultimately, your goal is to provide exceptional service, making patients feel welcome, comfortable, and well-cared for, contributing to the clinic's overall success through your attention to detail, compassionate approach, and dedication to patient satisfaction.
