Organization: C-Pod ED 30 Job Summary: Supports delivery of patient care by providing clerical and receptionist services to patients, families, visitors, staff, physicians, departments that support patient care, and all other customers of a Patient Care Unit with regular guidance. About the Department: The environment in the C-POD Adult Emergency Stepdown Unit is friendly, focused on teamwork, and flexible to accommodate our patients’ needs. We care for adult patients 18 or older who are being treated for a variety of medical diagnoses. Our unit is unique because we have a blended emergency department and inpatient stepdown care delivery model. Our patient population encompasses a variety of diagnoses and levels of care. Your Schedule: Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week) Shifts rotate throughout the week Note: Set schedules are not available. Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs. All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Processes orders according to guidelines, follows computer downtime procedures.
Enters and updates information in computer system to assure current information and retrieves data accurately.
Maintains unit log according to guidelines, makes follow up appointments, and performs discharge related clerical tasks.
Responds to patient call system and patient requests providing clear, current information to families, visitors and staff.
Uses telephone, patient call system, beeper/paging system, fax/copy machine, scanning, unit specific monitoring devices, pneumatic tube system and to facilitate flow of communication, equipment and supplies.
Orders, maintains and uses supplies in a cost effective manner.
