About The Position

The Medical Receptionist in Winston Salem, NC, will be an integral part of our front office team, providing exceptional service and support to our patients. This role demands a friendly demeanor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage front desk operations efficiently while ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional welcome, both in person and via phone, addressing inquiries and directing them accordingly.
  • Document patient arrivals and ensure accurate check-in/check-out processes using our Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Verify patient identities through date of birth and name; create new accounts for new patients as needed.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork and documentation prior to patient appointments to ensure a smooth check-in experience.
  • Proactively contact patients who have missed appointments to reschedule them and properly document these interactions.
  • Enhance patient satisfaction by interacting positively and efficiently handling appointment bookings.
  • Respond promptly to any patient inquiries or needs that arise, using professional judgment.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and insurance verification processes.
  • Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organized, and welcoming.
  • Process patient copays and outstanding balances during check-in/out.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Support the overall team in achieving practice goals and promoting a positive patient experience.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
