The Opportunity Medical Receptionists play a vital role in creating a welcoming, home-like environment within our primary care clinics. This position ensures a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out experience, maintains accurate and complete patient medical records, and provides essential administrative support to keep clinic operations running seamlessly. The right individual for this role l is eager to learn, self-motivated, and genuinely enjoys engaging with patients, staff, and vendors. Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal): Foreshadows and elevates concerns as they arise, unafraid of professional directness both with colleagues and patients.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills: Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple high-priority tasks and handle a fast-paced work environment.

  • Technically savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Receptionist certification
  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar customer service position
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of insurance processes
  • Experience using electronic records management software and other related programs used for medical registration and collection of HIPAA documentation
  • Experience working with insurance billing and coding information

Responsibilities

  • Create a warm, welcoming, and professional experience for every patient, serving as the first point of contact and introductory face of value-based care.
  • Lead the check-in process and educate patients on the program’s goals, vision, and shared responsibility model.
  • Provide primary phone support, including answering inbound calls, scheduling and canceling appointments, returning messages, and documenting patient interactions in the EMR.
  • Conduct periodic patient satisfaction outreach and identify solutions to continuously enhance the patient experience.
  • Partner with MAs, Care Navigators, and clinic staff to deliver cross-coverage and team-based support as needed.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of the EMR to manage scheduling, documentation, and task routing, and demonstrate initiative in continuously improving system proficiency.
  • Oversee non-clinical supply inventory, manage mail distribution, and provide general administrative support using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked front desk and lobby environment that reflects a high standard of professionalism.
  • Ensure patient charts are complete and accurate by obtaining, scanning, uploading, and organizing medical records in a timely manner.
  • Review incoming documentation daily and support MAs and the Population Health team with pre-visit chart preparation and record retrieval.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and high-quality patient care.
