About The Position

Spectrum HealthCare has a full-time opportunity for a Medical Receptionist at the Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center in Dumfries, Virginia. The Medical Receptionist will provide administrative services within the Urgent Care department. The position involves performing receptionist duties and various clerical tasks to assist staff members as necessary. Responsibilities include answering inquiries, verifying and obtaining information for the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties, and updating the data system as needed. The Medical Receptionist will also verify patient information, register new patients in the Composite Health Care system (CHCS), and maintain accurate records per AR 40-66 using the electronic medical record system (AHLTA). The working hours are from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience as an administrative technician in a medical environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in basic word processing, data entry, and automated records.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receptionist duties and various clerical tasks to assist staff members.
  • Answer inquiries and verify information for the general public, customers, and visitors.
  • Update the data system as needed.
  • Verify patient information and make corrections as necessary.
  • Register new patients in the Composite Health Care system (CHCS).
  • Record and maintain accurate records per AR 40-66 and use the electronic medical record system (AHLTA).
  • Prepare daily end-of-day reports and utilize computer data systems.
  • Input patient information and book appointments using appropriate codes.
  • Maintain and stock forms needed at the front desk.
  • Ensure all treatment requested by the provider has been scheduled and reschedule appointments when necessary.
