Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred but not required.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administrative Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors promptly and courteously upon arrival.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect co-payments or fees as required.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical staff or departments.
  • Coordinate patient flow by communicating effectively with clinical staff regarding patient arrivals and delays.
  • Manage administrative tasks including filing, faxing, and handling correspondence related to patient care.
  • Assist with billing and insurance documentation as needed to support the revenue cycle process.
