About The Position
As a Medical Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist at Leidos QTC Health Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Veteran Affairs Operations in San Antonio, TX. This position is designed for medical professionals who are passionate about aiding others and skilled in reviewing and interpreting medical records. You will work closely with medical providers and the Veterans Administration to ensure that the documentation process is complete and accurate. Your primary responsibility will be to review documentation sent over from medical providers, ensuring that reports are complete, concise, clear, and correct. You will also verify that the providers have accurately completed the Disability Benefit Questionnaires for delivery back to the VA. In this rewarding role, you will engage in various tasks including reviewing and auditing exam reports sent from medical providers, ensuring that all medical coding is complete and accurate, and confirming that all tests have been ordered and completed, and are present in the medical record. You will coordinate with medical providers as needed for clarification of reports and work with our in-house appointment schedules to request additional appointments for veterans as necessary. This position is not only about ensuring quality but also about making a significant impact on the lives of veterans by facilitating their access to necessary medical services. The role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of anatomy and medical terminology, as well as the ability to read and analyze medical reports. You will need to apply clinical reasoning and write clear questions to submit to the provider. Experience working with medical providers in various capacities such as credentialing, medical coding, chart audits, triage, scribing, or nursing is essential.
